housing estate for elderly people

Supervised Living Linz K.

The building includes 33 apartments for older people and people with special needs. The Upper Austrian government facilitates this form of living to support the self-reliant living of the elderly people as long as possible. Additionally to the apartments there is a group room and an office for a social worker, who offers group activities and any kind of support.

It is the smaller building on the plot. The two buildings are mutually entangled, so that the green space in between opens to the bordering river. Community facilities support an open-minded meeting of the generations.

The eight-storey high building orientates on the building development of the 60ies and its language of shapes used in the neighbourhoods. The lively façade mitigates the impression of the prefabricated slab buildings of the 60ies.
